A Muslim doctor raped a Christian nurse

17 Jul

Religion, a sacred entity, has been behind all discipline in every walk of life of mankind. But the religious prejudice and intolerance could be a trigger to criminality which is hard to anticipate. The dynamics of majority give an edge on the minority with a strong sense of power and that leads to moral corruption as well. When the hatred and bias hit you strongly, the other weak religious groups seem an easy pry for any injustice. Same happened when a Muslim doctor in Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Center, Karachi, raped a young Christian nurse.

Then on her protest, he got cold feet and he attempted to murder her. Magdalene Ashraf, 23, was thrown from the fourth floor of the JPMC School of Nursing. Her father who had seen many dreams for a good future of her daughter is shattered and helpless. His reality as Christian has become his crime where his daughter had to pay the price. price. Hundreds of women are being raped everyday in Pakistan including Muslims, but in such cases the crime is double. Rape and racism both are the serious crimes in its nature, but the society is turning insensitive towards the ugly side of it.

Imagining a doctor committing this disgusting crime is not less than a shock where he has been trained to treat human beings above their religions, colour, identity, and class. But here he not only violated professional ethics, but also disgraced his sacred profession. Till how long, the minorities have to pay the price of their identity and how many of them still have to see the ugly face of people under the pretext of religion. Minorities need protection even when the excuse is given that situation is bad for the whole society. Why the minorities need special protection is because they are vulnerable due to their little presence in society, and less representation in powerful institutions.

This case needs to be taken very seriously as criminals can see their targets in even those who belong to majority. It is important to see victim as a victim irrespective of who he/she is..

Below is the story:

Pakistan Christian Post

Pakistan: Muslim Doctor rapes Christian student Nurse and attempts to murder her.Muslim doctor throws her from fourth floor of Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Center Karachi after raping her, it is hospital named on Founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, where all doctors are Muslims and non a Christian.

The visitors of patient see Magdalene Ashraf, a girl in nursing uniform being thrown from fourth floor by a person in white coat of doctors and call hospital security. The victim is a Christian aged 23 and daughter of a poor Christian Ashraf Masih who dreams good future for his daughter Magdalene after graduation in JPMC School of Nursing.

As the news reaches to Ashraf Masih that her daughter is raped and Muslim rapist doctor have attempted to kill her, he rushes to hospital where he finds her dreams in critical conditions fighting for life on hospital bed. He cries and calls his Christian leaders to seek help and justice.

The Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Center JPMC is a teaching hospital with Medical College and Nursing School. There were 100% Christian student nurses in JPMC School of Nursing till 1980 but late Muslim students took over and admission of Christian students was minimized to 20%. There is JPMC Medical College where non of Christian medical student is registered student from decades, JPMC is administered under Federal Government and funded by Ministry of Health.

There are hundreds of rape cases of Christian nurses by Muslim doctors which go un-reported in Pakistan when rapists are from influential Muslim families which forces Christian nurses to keep silent to safe their families but Magdalene Ashraf took her voice up and faced attempt to kill her.

After agitation of Christians in JPMC, the police is called by Security officer of JPMC and case is registered against Muslim doctor Jabbar Memon under section 324 PPC, in Saddar Police Station Karachi. Accused doctor Jabbar Memon was transferred from Abbasi Shaheed Hospital on his ill behavior to JPMC.

The Christian Lawyers Foundation leader Khalid Gill have formed an enquiry committee comprising of Michael Javeed, Pandat Sham Lal Sharma and Khalsa Saardar Ramesh Singh, President Sikh Nojwan Sabha Pakistan. Pakistan Christian Congress PCC have strongly condemned the rape and attempt to kill Christian student nurse and demanded justice.

    Hello Summer Camps,
Thanks for you comment. Well if I accept your suggestion then the whole purpose of creating this blog will fail. I want to support minorities which include Hindus, Christians, Ahmadis, Sikhs, Shia, or anyone who faces anything due to being minority. Secondly, I do not want to create any hatred between religions, in fact, I want religion should not be the reason for any such violations.
    Keep commenting…
    Thanks once again..
    Regards,
    sadaf
